The mysterious hand-print of the Carbon County Jail


There is a permanent marker on the wall of cell 17, of the Carbon County Jail, in the town of Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania. Each day, a hanged man proclaims his innocence, by the imprint of his hand. The permanent marker on the cell wall has resisted all efforts to clean, repaint, and even re-plastering. Not long after each attempt to cover it up, the hand-print becomes visible again.

Alexander Campbell, a recruiter for the Molly Maguires, said, "I am innocent, I was nowhere near the scene of the crime." Then he slapped his hand against the wall of his cell, and continued, "There is proof of my words. That mark of mine will never be wiped out. It will remain forever to shame the county for hanging an innocent man."

And indeed, that mark remains.

The Ghosts of Robbers Cave

Unexplained voices, cries, screams, and unintelligible laughing and talking can be heard in "Robber's Cave". Below the summit of Pahuk Bluff, near Lincoln, Nebraska, this network of caves is said to be haunted by the spirits of Pawnee tribes-people, runaway slaves and escaped prisoners, all long dead.

The cave passages are said to have connected the local penitentiary and the State Hospital for the Insane. One story claims that this tunnel was used as an escape route for prisoners, until it was finally sealed off.

The cave is no longer in existence, as the site was filled in and a business constructed on top of what was once the cave entrance. If you can find the location, you might still hear the sounds of the past.

The Devil's Tramping Ground


According to those that seem to know, no one has ever been able to spend the night in the circle, tramped out by the Devil himself, as he eternal paces, pondering new evils for mankind.

Known as the Devi's Tramping Ground, the 40 foot x 40 foot barren circle in the midst of the forest near Siler, North Carolina lies cold and infertile, yet beckons the fool-hearty soul to camp in it's dark center.

Compass readings change in and out of the circle, showing there is some type of disturbance in and around the Devi's Tramping Ground, causing even the birds and bugs to be silent. Soil testing gives no particular reason as to it's apparent 'dead state'.

Animals refuse to tread across it, birds won't land on it's ashen surface. What is it, what created it so long ago? Settlers of the 1700s knew of it and the local Native Americans claim it is a sacred place.

Is it a landing spot for UFOs, or a vortex, a paranormal doorway to alternate realities? Objects placed in the circle will be moved or gone by morning and no one will spend the entire night in the circle. Would you?

It's nice to have someone else stroke my ego once in a while. :-)

It's not every day a person gets to work with an investigator as professional as Lon Strickler. His keen insight and careful presentation of facts makes him a top notch investigator, as well as spot on Webmaster.

It was my honor and privilege to assist Lon in the 'Perth Orb' Investigation and Update. I examined the still shots captured from grainy video, to reveal the source, the identity of the orbs. I enhanced the photos, then using the graphical information and my inner self to guide me, I was able to create a visual representation of the 'spirit'.

Lon's ability to glean information from the witness and put forth that info, along with my artistic and intuitive ability, earned the Perth Orbs case the #1 spot in 'The Heavy Stuff' (THS)- "Second Annual Top 10 Anomalous, Dubious, Hoax, Events And Links Of 2009".

Rick Phillips, 'The Anomaly Man' of THS said in this year's announcement, "this year, like last, we have a bevy of links that appeared on the internet that qualified as anomalous in many areas of ParaNormality - but - mixed in - of course, - we had the tricksters, hoaxers, and just plain unquantifiable information - which we have to include in this day and age of CGI videos and more. Indeed, the coverage by the MSM of the hoaxes is becoming part of the total Fortean story. Such is the state of the anomalous internet world of 2009."

Countdown to the Apocalypse? Yeah, OK.

The Movie 2012 hits theaters today, Friday, November 13, 2009. Who will survive?

Hmm, there is a lot of doomsayers vying for your dollars via movies, books and even a 2012 store, where you can stock up on survival gear and MREs (meals ready to eat).

What if this all turns out to be just like the end-of-the-world Millennium Y2K bust? Surely people recall how the doom and gloomers were espousing the year 2000 computer crashes, world's end scenarios, the coming of the Anti-Christ and such nonsense. What if this is more of the same?

It's all so evident that we humans have very short memories.

George Santayana: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

Ok, so what if on December 21, 2012, our solar system does line up with the center of the galaxy, we get hit with Planet X, or bombarded by meteors? Just what are MREs, underground bunkers and all the warnings and predictions going to do to stop it all and save humanity?

Not a damn thing.

If it's the end of the world, then that is exactly what it means, and unless you have a rocket ship, lots of fuel (and MREs) and a map to the next earth-like planet, you're screwed.

But all is not lost. The Mayan's didn't say the world would end. That's just when their calendar stops and it's a foretelling of a new age, a new beginning for us. Exactly what that new beginning begins with, or the old age ends with, hasn't been decided.

You could most likely wake up on December 22, 2012, with a bunker full of MREs and more survival gear than a special forces unit, while the hucksters laugh all the way to the bank.

Good luck.
Don't forget your hard hat and tin foil.
