In Search of the Elusive Cryptid

Recently, witnesses in Pacifica, MO saw a massive flying creature at least the size of a large adult human, "buzz" their vehicle and another reported that her 18 year old son saw "something VERY LARGE taking off from a huge old tree.

He said it seems like it was 8' tall and when he put the flashlight on it the eyes glowed back red (which a night hunting animals will at times) then it took off. Then he started in again about the very large part."

The young man lives 20 miles from the Mississippi River.

Meanwhile, the hunt is on for Sasquatch in a section woods (Dolly Sods) in Virginia and a woman in Illinois claims to have seen twice, "a creature with long white hair covering the body except for the facial features".

Have people been watching too many fantasy movies, or is there really something out there, that people are actually seeing?

If these creatures are real, why don't scientists and the general public know about them?

Seeing monsters is not a new phenomena. Native Americans have known of Sasquatch (Big Foot, Skunk Ape, etc.), for generations. They have also believed in the Thunderbird, a giant bird that so many people have claimed to have witnessed.

Where do these creatures hide? And with our technology today, will they be able to hide much longer? The truth is out there... So are the little green men and the Loch Ness Monster.
Maybe some day we will catch them.

Gnomes- The Tomte of Sweden

A Gnome By Any Other Name

The Paranomalist- October 23, 2009 by John Carlson

My paternal grandmother was born in a rural area of Sweden in 1891, and when I was a boy she told me stories of the Tomte (as I understand it, Tomte is plural and the singular is Tomten), small beings that took the appearance of old, bearded men. The Tomte were no more than 3 feet tall and wore pointed hats, which we’ve of course come to associate with gnomes and similar creatures. Legend tells that the Tomte were capable of invisibility and could shapeshift, sometimes taking the appearance of a large, grown man.

Also, according to legend — and Grandma Alice’s stories — Tomte would usually be found on a farm and would carry out chores at night and help care for the farmer’s animals. It was thought to be bad luck to see a Tomten, but my grandmother claimed that she would often find his small footprints in the snow or mud around her home.

(Video capture of a possible gnome- Video on The Paranomalist)

Although basically a benevolent spirit, the Tomten was easily offended and could be vindictive. If, for example, the Tomten felt that the farmer was mistreating his livestock, heard swearing in the barn, or neglecting to clean up a mess, the Tomten would become incensed and cause mischief. Items around the house were found broken, the milk curdled, even the cows’ tails tied together. Tomte would also become angered and would seek revenge if they were sighted or if the farmer and his family failed to leave a bowl of porridge and butter out for him on Christmas Eve. My grandmother and her family used to follow this tradition, leaving out porridge with butter for the Tomten each Christmas Eve.

My grandmother was quite insistent that the Tomte were not merely the stuff of fairytale and legend, but real beings that occupied the farms and rural landscapes of Sweden. It was these stories that contributed to my lifelong fascination with tales of diminutive humanoids. Originally coming out of the pagan traditions regarding “earth spirits” and the worship of the natural world, the Tomte later became associated with ungodly or heathen beliefs after the Christianization of Scandinavia. However, despite the sometimes negative association, the Tomten has remained a popular figure in Swedish folklore.

Haunting Memories

My father-in-law (whom I lovingly called Dad), passed away on December 31, 2007. He was 84 years of age. My mother-in-law had passed on in 1999. Both left their earthly bonds, in the house that Dad built with his own two hands.

Most of the time when my husband and I went to see Dad, I could feel Mom's presence, especially when I sat on the old tree swing in the yard, or trimmed the rose bush that grew near the east window of the garden room.

When Dad died, I moved in to take care of the house and farm, until my husband and his brother could decide if they wanted to keep the old farm, or sell it. I ended up living there for over a year.

My husband would come stay on weekends but most of the time I was there alone, just me and my two small dogs, yet I never really felt alone. Sometimes I would see Dad sitting at the breakfast table, in his usual spot. Sometimes I would catch a quick glimpse of him in his coveralls and a familiar plaid shirt, walking down the hallway.

Sometimes I would hear doors open and close, or note footsteps in the entry and I'd call out, "Hi, Dad!"

It was not long after Dad died, that I took a photo of the living room, looking in from the kitchen area. I was surprised by the object that appeared in the photo. It was right in front of me, yet I did not see it as I took the photo.

I would make the bed, smooth out the covers and sometimes when I came back in the bedroom, I'd see an impression of a body on Dad's side of the bed. I suppose that was his calling card, letting me know he had been there.

The old home place was sold in March of 2009. New owners have moved into the house and instead of raising hay for sale, they are pasturing horses. The orchards now bear fruit for their stock of peach and pear preserves and new vehicles are parked in the 2 car garage.

I don't know if Mom and Dad still haunt the old place, I haven't heard. If they do, I'm sure it is a peaceful co-existence. If anything, Dad will watch over the house and farm, while Mom will see to it that the roses and Crape Myrtles bloom beautifully, every summer.

Possible UFOs & Alien Entity Seen In Idaho

Artist's depiction of event. You may click on it for a larger view.

According to a report to MUFON, after midnight on October 23rd, 2009, lights in the sky and a human shaped figure were seen walking through tall weeds towards the witness. Here is that report in it's entirety, with minor spelling/grammar corrections:

MUFON- I have been noticing at night many "shooting stars". Tonight I counted 24 of them but the previous last couple of nights, I have counted only around 7 to 10. This has sparked my interest in shooting star watching.

Tonight I was on my back porch, when I saw a red shining object suddenly appear and move over our house. So I ran out to the front door and watched it until it stopped and then another shining star like light began blinking on and off . Then the red object would do the same.

I watched the star like object move over to the red object and they both disappeared. I sat outside to see if something else would happen, when I observed many more shooting stars appear and at one point, I saw very far up in the sky, a white flash of light that moved in a spiral motion and the it also disappeared as well.

In terms of describing my feelings, I felt no fear but I felt excitement. I waited outside hoping to see more. Yet on my first observation night of the shooting stars, I woke up at 5:00 a.m. to smoke a cigarette and witnessed several shooting stars, in which all were heading in the same direction.

I suddenly felt fearful and although it was dark out side, I saw something like a shape of a human in the back yard, where tall weeds are the only thing out back besides a small fence to keep the dogs from getting off the property.

The human shape was rather tall and what frightened me the most, was that it was coming in my direction and it looked like a vague light was outlining the shape and I could see the tall weeds through it.

As it moved closer, it did not disturb the weeds as it moved through them. I only witnessed this for about 3 seconds and quickly went back into the house and locked the door. I could not go back to sleep because I was so frightened.

Is Your House Haunted?

By Stephen Wagner - Paranormal Phenomena

16 Signs That Your House Is Haunted

You hear heavy footsteps in the upstairs hallway when you know no one is up there. Doors slam unaccountably. Commonly used items disappear and reappear without cause. The kitchen light turns on by itself. There's the unmistakable scent of a strange perfume in the air.

These may be indications that your house is haunted. True hauntings are rare occurrences, and it may be difficult to determine whether or not any strange phenomena you are experiencing in your home might be due to a haunting. For one thing, no one really knows what a "real" haunting is - what causes it or why it starts. There are many theories, of course, which we have discussed in this space in the article "Ghosts: What Are They?" But if you think your house may really be haunted, what can you do about it?

The Signs of a Haunting

The first step is to determine, as best you can, whether or not you truly have a legitimate case of a haunting. Not all hauntings are alike, and they may exhibit a variety of phenomena. Some hauntings feature a single phenomenon - such as a particular door slamming shut that occurs repeatedly - while others consist of many different phenomena, ranging from odd noises to full-blown apparitions.

Here's a partial list of phenomena that might indicate that your house is haunted:

* Unexplained noises - footsteps; knocks, banging, rapping; scratching sounds; sounds of something being dropped. Sometimes these noises can be subtle and other times they can be quite loud.
* Doors, cabinets and cupboards opening and closing - most often, these phenomena are not seen directly. The experiencer either hears the distinct sounds of the doors opening and closing (homeowners get to know quite well the distinctive sounds their houses make) or the experiencer will return to a room to find a door open or closed when they are certain that it was left in the opposite position. Sometimes furniture, like kitchen chairs, are perceived to have been moved. Very rarely will the experiencer actually witness the phenomenon taking place.
* Lights turning off and on - likewise, these events are seldom seen actually occurring, but the lights are switched on or off when the experiencer knows they were not left that way. This can also happen with TVs, radios and other electrically powered items.
* Items disappearing and reappearing - this phenomenon, which we have dubbed "the DOPler Effect" (DOP = Disappearing Object Phenomenon), has been examined in the article "The DOPler Effect." Others have called this "the borrowers" phenomenon, and it's the familiar experience of not being able to find a regularly used item - say, your set of car keys - which you believe you placed in a spot you routinely place them. But they're gone and you look high and low for them with no success. Some time later, the keys are found - in exactly the place you normally put them. It's as if the object was borrowed by someone or something for a short time, then returned. Sometimes they are not returned for days or even weeks, but when they are, it's in an obvious place that could not have been missed by even a casual search.
* Unexplained shadows - the sighting of fleeting shapes and shadows, usually seen out of the corner of the eye. This phenomenon has also been discussed in some detail in "Shadow People." Many times, the shadows have vaguely human forms, while other times they are less distinguishable or smaller.
* Strange animal behavior - a dog, cat or other pet behaves strangely. Dogs may bark at something unseen, cower without apparent reason or refuse to enter a room they normally do. Cats may seem to be "watching" something cross a room. Animals have sharper senses than humans, and many researchers think their psychic abilities might be more finely tuned also. (See "Animals and Ghosts" )
* Feelings of being watched - this is not an uncommon feeling and can be attributed to many things, but it could have a paranormal source if the feeling consistently occurs in a particular part of the house at a particular time.

Those are some of the most common experiences of those who think their houses are haunted. Yet even stranger things can happen...

Stronger evidence.

What to do about your haunting.

I personally don't but yesterday night around 10:30 p.m I was startled by a door being slammed,my door being shaken.

I grabbed my camera and took pictures of a man near my curb. I am frighten for my life. I have called my son and he is coming to pick me up tomorrow. i did not call the police because I am afraid of something happening to me.

I hear stories of men in black appearing out of nowhere but I always never believed them, as of yesterday, i do now.

A Very Special Dog

Everyone has, or has had a special pet. One that just seems to complete you, whether it is a dog, cat, or more exotic pet. Well this story is about a very special dog, both in life and after.

Pepper was my Doberman Pinscher. She wasn't your average dobie and she never would have made the show dog circuit, but she was very special to me and her family.

A friend gave Pepper to me when she was only 7 weeks old. Two days after she came to live with us, she came down with a terrible illness that almost took her very young life.

With the help of a good vet, I nursed her back to health, yet she never grew to be quite as big as most female dobies. That didn't matter, she had a big heart.

We lived in the country and had a TV antennae tower, in order to receive the basic networks channels. The tower was behind our house and next to the fence where Pepper's doghouse was.

It just so happened that that tower was like a lightening magnet. Lightening struck it at least twice while we lived there.

Trust me when I say that Pepper hated and feared lightening after that. At the first distant rumble of thunder, she was hunting for another place to hide, definitely not in her doghouse!

Aside from the lightening, Pepper was fearless. She was an intelligent companion and family protector. She was well behaved and did just about anything I asked of her. She was a fierce guard dog when needed but was gentle to all who knew her. Pepper even loved cats, especially ours, whom she raised from a tiny kitten.

As Pepper got older, she went completely deaf; I suppose the cause was due to the lightening strikes and thunderous, roaring boom they caused. We were at home both times and it was like someone exploded a huge bomb in our back yard.

Due to her deafness, Pepper learned to literally read our minds. All I had to do was think of what I needed her to do and she, like the good dog she was, would obey instantly.

Pepper outlived most dogs of her type and was with me for 14 and a half years, until one day she was too old and sick to get up. I knew it was time and so did she. I called the vet and he drove out to our home.

As Pepper laid her head in my lap, she looked at me with those soft brown eyes, as if to say, "It's
ok, I'm ready."

I spoke the words, "I love you, my Pepper." and she exhaled and was gone. I bawled for hours.

Not a day went by that I didn't tear up every time her name was mentioned. I sometimes still do, yet I know she will always be with me... she showed me.

I buried her that day, in our back yard. Our other dogs would refuse to go near the grave.

Pepper was buried, wearing the red collar that was her favorite. She had others but she liked that one best.

It was a year after Pepper had died and I kept seeing movement on the back porch, a glimpse of Pepper as she spun round and round like she used to, when she knew I was about to step outside.

I figured it was just my imagination, wishful thinking. Pepper was gone and nothing could bring her back.

Our girl Sheltie (Bea) had made a home in Pepper's old doghouse but one day, Bea refused to go into the doghouse, even though it was raining.

I figured there might be a wasp nest or scorpion, so I pulled out the dog blanet and what came with it, was amazing. There in the blanet was Pepper's red collar. It was still buckled, just as it had been around her neck when we buried her.

I checked and Pepper's grave was undisturbed. All was as it had been.

Several years later we moved from that house, to a farm. We still had the cat that Pepper had raised, the cat who missed Pepper almost as much as I did.

I kept that collar and when my cat died at age 17 and a half, we buried him with Pepper's collar. They are together now and at peace.

I still miss them both. I always miss them but I know that they are always with me, in my heart.

Braingate - Human to Machine Telepathy

Science & Technology

If a human can interface with a computer through electrical impulses, then why is it so hard to believe that human to human telepathy (mind to mind communication) is so far fetched?

This article discusses the effects that "Braingate", a human to computer interface will have on paralyzed patients and beyond. - An implantable, brain-computer interface the size of an aspirin has been clinically tested on humans by American company Cyberkinetics. The 'BrainGate' device can provide paralyzed or motor-impaired patients a mode of communication through the translation of thought into direct computer control. The technology driving this breakthrough in the Brain-Machine-Interface field has a myriad of potential applications, including the development of human augmentation for military and commercial purposes.

"The goal of the BrainGate program is to develop a fast, reliable and unobtrusive connection between the brain of a severely disabled person and a personal computer" stated Tim Surgenor, President and CEO of Cyberkinetics. "We [hope] to provide paralyzed individuals with a gateway through which they can access the broad capabilities of computers, control devices in the surrounding environment, and even move their own limbs."

Researchers at the University of Pittsburgh have already demonstrated that a monkey can feed itself with a robotic arm simply by using signals from its brain, an advance that could enhance prosthetics for people, especially those with spinal cord injuries. Now, using the BrainGate system in the current human trials, a 25 year old quadriplegic has successfully been able to switch on lights, adjust the volume on a TV, change channels and read e-mail using only his brain. Crucially, the patient was able to do these tasks while carrying on a conversation and moving his head at the same time.

John Donoghue, the chair of the Department of Neuroscience at Brown University, led the original research project and went on to co-found Cyberkinetics, where he is currently chief scientific officer overseeing the clinical trial. "The development of the BrainGate program is the culmination of 10 years of research in my academic laboratory at Brown University. We have not only demonstrated in preclinical studies that BrainGate can remain safely implanted in the [monkey] brain for at least two years, but we have shown that it can safely be removed as well."

About the BrainGate device

The BrainGate Neural Interface Device is a proprietary brain-computer interface that consists of an internal neural signal sensor and external processors that convert neural signals into an output signal under the users own control. The sensor consists of a tiny chip smaller than a baby aspirin, with one hundred electrode sensors each thinner than a hair that detect brain cell electrical activity.

The BrainGate technology platform was designed to take advantage of the fact that many patients with motor impairment have an intact brain that can produce movement commands. This may allow the BrainGate system to create an output signal directly from the brain, bypassing the route through the nerves to the muscles that cannot be used in paralysed people.

The chip is implanted on the surface of the brain in the motor cortex area that controls movement. In the pilot version of the device, a cable connects the sensor to an external signal processor in a cart that contains computers. The computers translate brain activity and create the communication output using custom decoding software. Importantly, the entire BrainGate system was specifically designed for clinical use in humans and thus, its manufacture, assembly and testing are intended to meet human safety requirements. Five quadriplegics patients in all are enrolled in the pilot study, which was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Paranormal Activity- The Movie

Touted to be the scariest movie ever produced, the premise is a young couple who moves into what seems like a typical suburban starter tract house. It becomes quite obvious that they are sharing their home with a presence that may, or may not be demonic. Whether it is or not, the unwelcomed presence is most active in the middle of the night, especially when they sleep... or try to.

This film was released on September 25, 2009, to a few cities in the U.S. If you'd like to see it in your city, "demand it", though it shouldn't be too long a wait for the DVD.

Destination Truth- Alien Mummy (Part 1)

Destination Truth- Alien Mummy (Part 2)

Is this an alien of extraterrestrial origin, or is it an unknown species?

Looking at the photo evidence, experts ruled out human, or bird but what is that headless corpse that was found by the Destination Truth team? Hopefully the Chilean authorities will conduct a DNA test to find out.

Oh, and that light in the tunnel? It appears the team wasn't alone.

Prophetic Dreams

Can a person really see future events, or know what fate has in store for them? Can they leave their bodies and travel to distant places? Whether others believe or not I do, as it has been proven to me time and again.

As a child I had prophetic dreams, that ability not limited to myself. My mother told me of a recurring dream she had in 1969-1970, of being below ground, among a throng of people. They were all progressing towards a brilliant light. She could not see the source of the light but as she reached the outer most edge of light, a beautiful woman in white, gold and blue robes met her and took her hand, ushering her forward, on towards the light. My mother knew at that moment, that the beautiful lady was Mary, the mother of Jesus. It also became clear to her, that in her dream she had died.

After mother told me her dream and expressed to me her belief, that she would soon die. It was then she told me that if anything happened to her, she would come back and let me know that there indeed was life after death.

Fast forward to 1972 and the day my mother found out she had breast cancer. The cancer had spread quickly and though she had a radical mastectomy, chemo and X-ray treatments, the doctors gave her only 6 months to live.

Mother did pass on but she lived until the day after Christmas, 1975. She was only 60 years old. Her faith kept her alive for 3 years instead of 6 months and she lived long enough to hold my child, her new grand daughter, in her arms.

About 2 months after her passing, I saw my mother standing in the doorway, proving to me that life does indeed live beyond the mortal shell we call a body.

A short time later, my dad and I both had the same dream, of my mother trying to tell us something about her grave. A couple of days later, the cemetery association called to say that my mother's grave had sunk 2 feet, that they would have to exhume the casket to fix the problem.

As for me, I began dreaming future events when I was about 5 years old. For several years I dreamed I was given a beautiful palomino horse. Year after year, the same dream, over and over.

When I had just turned 10 years old, my Godmother was having to move away and could not take the horse that she had recently purchased. She asked me if I would take it and be it's new rider, it's caretaker. After my parents agreed, the horse became mine, a beautiful palomino mare, golden in color, with long white mane and tail; just as it had been foretold in my dreams.

Little did I know that my future held more prophetic dreams and night-time travels, however, I'll withhold those stories for a later time.

The Dead Speak

Electronic voice phenomena (EVP) refers to the sounds and even voices of paranormal origin, on electronic media such as radios, tape recorders, video/audio equipment and even televisions. Some people build their own "ghost box", using a detuned AM/FM radio and speakers, so they can converse "real time" with the spirits who respond.

Proponents of EVP commonly attribute the phenomenon to communication from spirits of the dead, although others suggest it could possibly be alien communications, or even psychokinesis from the living.

I suggest that you should not attempt to conduct EVP sessions without proper taining and support. Never try this in your own home, as it is a possiblity that you might open a door to the other side, that you cannot close.

Below are videos purported to be EVPs, which were conducted and captured by means of a Ouija board and a ghost box, both of which are tools that I suggest not be used frivolously.

Breckenridge- The Most Haunted Town in Texas?

Due to its publicity on the Travel Channel and the Sci-Fi Network, the city of Breckenridge is now considered the most haunted city in Texas. In light of the fact that there are so many stories, maybe it is at the very least, the most haunted small town in Texas, or maybe Breckenridge residents are more imaginative. You decide.

Walking the streets of Breckenridge after dark, may give you the opportunity to meet up with a spectre or two. Just beware that snooping around might land you in more trouble than a ghostly scare. However, a trip downtown may reveal a late night "ghost walker".

Highway 180 runs through Breckenridge and if you are lucky (or maybe not), you might see the lady hitchhiker with the knife in her neck, trying to thumb a ride.

Another is the specter of a headless woman, chugging down the unleaded at a local gas station.

One of the local bars in town has a reputation as being haunted. Several people have actually seen and heard the spirit of an elderly gentleman, passing through the bar area. Another ghostly presence is reputed to pinch ladies bottoms, when they enter the women's restroom.

No one ever goes upstairs, directly over the bar area. In fact, the stairwell is closed off and the door to it is kept locked. But late at night, when all is still and the juke box no longer blares, you just might hear furniture being drug across the floor, or find butt prints in the dust on the sofa upstairs.

The Stephens County Courthouse in downtown Breckenridge, has it's share of ghostly inhabitants. A person working for the judicial system told me that she did not like to stay there by herself at night, especially in certain areas of the courthouse. She would hear strange noises, doors opening and closing, keys rattling and sometimes disembodied voices, when and where no other living person was there.

Coal Mountain, located near Breckenridge, is an area that has several repeated ghost sightings and many folks say they have seen the head of a sheep on a man’s body, stalking the area.

Another spooky apparition on Coal Mountain, is said to be an armed forces uniform walking about, with no head or body. It is as if it's trying to find someone. It appears to be a hostile spirit, so you might not want to find it.

Residents of Breckenridge claim that Big Branch is haunted. Many have seen the specter of a woman in a bloody wedding gown, throwing rocks into the water.

Another ghost found at Big Branch, with the appearance of a young man dressed in a winter coat, appeared to be drinking down a root beer. After being seen, he faded into the night.

A child wearing a white shirt walking around alone has been spotted at Hubbard Creek Lake. Residents say there was a little boy that drowed long ago. If you are brave, or foolish enough, you might see him walking around at 3:00 a.m.

Another ghostly resident of Hubbard Creek Lake, is that of a woman who appears to be severely burned, holding a skull and standing near the waterfront. Folks who live there now, believe this spirit is a long departed resident of the area.

A Railroad Conductor has been seen, walking old railroad track that crosses FM 207 southeast of
Breckenridge, near Frankell, Texas. The tracks were used for the P.T. Barnum train, years ago.

A recent sighting was that of a fluorescent human shape, which was observed in Buckaroo Field late at night, consuming a cookie. The phantom supposedly greeted the eye witness.

A decapitated gentleman was seen looking at the scenery at Conner Lake Dam in the early morning hours. Seemingly panic stricken by the bystanders, the ghost withdrew into the dark.

A woman with her head and right arm and left leg amputated was observed staring at folks in a Breckenridge mobile home through an air vent. When perceived the spirit menacingly approached the onlooker, who then ran away.
What makes me wonder, is if her head was not attached, how did the witnesses know she was staring at them?

The ghost of a man with the sign of the devil etched into his head, has been seen waving to cars beside a shady highway near Breckenridge. Some in Breckenridge allege that this phantom is that of a traveler who was killed while driving through Breckenridge, quite some time ago. If I saw him, I don't believe I'd stop to ask him if he'd like a lift.

A few visitors to Possum Kingdom State Park have seen the ghostly image of a woman with worms crawling out of her ears, as she stands beside the park’s ranger station. Visitors have also noted that she looks as if to be reaching out for something.

The specter of an engine driver is also frequently be spotted near this same ranger station. Maybe he's looking for the lady with the wormy ears.

Whether you believe these stories or not, some of the residents in and around Breckenridge do. But before you go ghost hunting on private property, I'd ask permission from the living first, as it would be the wise thing to do.

Texas Bigfoot Conference = Boring

Texas Bigfoot Conference more boring than you would think
Sunday, October 04, 2009

TYLER — Janine Melnitz: 'Do you believe in UFOs, astral projections, mental telepathy, ESP, clairvoyance, spirit photography, telekinetic movement, full trance mediums, the Loch Ness monster and the theory of Atlantis?'

Winston Zeddemore: 'Ah, if there's a steady paycheck in it, I'll believe anything you say.'

— 'Ghostbusters'

Bigfoot is boring.

Correction. Bigfoot conferences are boring.

Bigfoot could not be boring if the conference speakers weren't so dull. Heck, most of them were barely breathing.

I went to the 2009 Texas Bigfoot Conference expecting people in gorilla suits milling about among semi-crazed gangs of gonzo, tattooed, barrel-chested beandips. I found instead only a polite, older crowd of mildly sleepy true believers who only came alive at the mention of the TV show "MonsterQuest" or the movie "The Legend of Boggy Creek." I thought surely someone would be selling BLT — Bigfoot, lettuce and tomato — sandwiches and Abominable Snowman cones during the lunch break, but there were only Cokes and Subway sandwiches.

Trying not to sound breathlessly moronic and relentlessly off kilter must be hard work. The stream of people calling themselves Bigfoot researchers — an astounding number of them PhDs, college professors and scientists from any number of fields — droned on all day, talking about satellite imagery, global rainfall patterns, Bigfoot territorial behaviors and specialty field work searching for Bigfoot signs. Even the crowd of believers was nodding off by the afternoon. I was asleep and drooling down the front of my shirt.

The discussion was arcane, jargon-laden and focused often on something they call cryptozoology — basically, the study of animals not yet proven to exist.

And I guess that's what the conference was all about, attempts to prove that Bigfoot, or Sasquatch if you prefer, does live some place other than in legend. Actually, what they're trying to do is get mainstream science to admit that all the misshapen plaster casts, bad photographs and over-dramatic TV shows are evidence that the creature lives in Texas and other states. Game Cameras Capture More Than Wildlife

Wildlife Camera Catches More Than Deer!

For the past 2 years, a man in Auburn, New York has been placing wildlife cameras on his farm, to photo deer.
He said the cameras are triggered by heat instead of movement. Here are 3 images he reported to MUFON.

His unedited MUFON Report: #19754- dear sirs over the last two years i have been putting out deer cameras out on my farm to photo camera has been pickin up some strange things i cant explan what its taking photos of.i was not there when the photos were taking.the camera is triggered by heat not by movement.ill attach the some of the pics from the last two falls and send them to you.please let me know what you think they might be thank you (name removed).

Other posts to MUFON shows that strange objects are being captured by game cameras, all over the U.S.

UFO, Ghost, or Other Caught on Another Game Camera

Location: Wisconsin

MUFON Report- Bought and put out new Trail Camera's on leased property. The first time I pulled the SD card and took it home and plugged it in to my computer I noticed that 2 pictures taken had objects in them that I could not explain. In one of the pictures it does appear that a raccoon "Triggered" the camera to go off and caught what appears to be an object with 5 "Orbs" in a vertical position above the Raccoon. Then the next picture the object is photographed again about 41 seconds later moving to the right of where the raccoon was. After carefully reviewing the second picture I can see that the raccoon triggers the second picture. The camera's are Wildgame IR camera's with 4.0 megapixels. They were brand new. The SD cards were also new. My first reaction was that it was a bug or something. However the object moves right to left and I do not believe it is a bug based on the size and shape. I do not know what it could be. The object moves along what could be considered a trail in the woods. I left the camera there for another week. No more photo's of that object. I am including a daytime picture of the area so you can see what it looks like.

Fossil Skeleton From Africa Predates Lucy

Published: October 1, 2009

Lucy, meet Ardi.

Link to Photo Ardi, short for Ardipithecus ramidus, is the newest fossil skeleton out of Africa to take its place in the gallery of human origins. At an age of 4.4 million years, it lived well before and was much more primitive than the famous 3.2-million-year-old Lucy, of the species Australopithecus afarensis.

Since finding fragments of the older hominid in 1992, an international team of scientists has been searching for more specimens and on Thursday presented a fairly complete skeleton and their first full analysis. By replacing Lucy as the earliest known skeleton from the human branch of the primate family tree, the scientists said, Ardi opened a window to “the early evolutionary steps that our ancestors took after we diverged from our common ancestor with chimpanzees.”

The older hominid was already so different from chimps that it suggested “no modern ape is a realistic proxy for characterizing early hominid evolution,” they wrote.

The Ardipithecus specimen, an adult female, probably stood four feet tall and weighed about 120 pounds, almost a foot taller and twice the weight of Lucy. Its brain was no larger than a modern chimp’s. It retained an agility for tree-climbing but already walked upright on two legs, a transforming innovation in hominids, though not as efficiently as Lucy’s kin.

Ardi’s feet had yet to develop the arch-like structure that came later with Lucy and on to humans. The hands were more like those of extinct apes. And its very long arms and short legs resembled the proportions of extinct apes, or even monkeys.

Tim D. White of the University of California, Berkeley, a leader of the team, said in an interview this week that the genus Ardipithecus appeared to resolve many uncertainties about “the initial stage of evolutionary adaptation” after the hominid lineage split from that of the chimpanzees. No fossil trace of the last common ancestor, which lived some time before six million years ago, according to genetic studies, has yet come to light. More>>

Orang Pendek Update- Jungle ape man spotted by Brits

Published to 30 Sep 2009

BRIT explorers claim they have spotted a legendary ape man believed to inhabit an island jungle — and snapped its footprints.

The four-strong team and their Indonesian guide were tracking through dense jungle in Sumatra when two of them caught a glimpse of the famous Orang Pendek — or short man.

The group brought back a hair sample and a piece of chewed palm from the island's Kerinci National Park they hope will provide DNA evidence of the beast.

They also snapped a strange footprint thought to belong to the creature.

Sightings of the hairy human-like monster have been made in the area since colonial times — and it is alleged to be immensely powerful.

The explorers hope the sample of rattan palm, which is thought to have been munched on by the Orang Pendek, will contain some of its cells. The palm and hair sample have been sent for testing.

Witnesses have described the beast as being about 5ft tall and say that it walks on two legs.

It is thought to be extremely powerful — with reports of onlookers seeing it ripping apart logs.

Man Sees Alien Creatures In Philadelphia

This is an "as is" report filed with MUFON (Mutual UFO Network).

On 8-15-2009 at 2:45am I was buzzed for about 5 seconds by a 4 foot round luminescent orb on the roof of the building that I work in, in Philadelphia . It materialized about a foot away from me, blocking my way and making a buzzing sound, it then took off and dematerialized in approximately a 6 feet distance. At this time I decided to turn around and leave the roof. I found a photo of the object here.

(Witness's drawing- click on image for larger view)

About an hour later at 3:45am I was walking through a machine room on the roof, near the same location of the orb, when I encountered a 3 foot tall triped creature. It was standing by an electrical transformer looking up at the conduits. I observed it for about 30 seconds from a distance of four feet before it turned around and noticed me. I was looking down at it! It had a beautiful baby blue eye which was moving rapidly, just one, a long eye lid and rubbery looking legs with bulbous feet.

I could see it was starting to panic because it started stomping his feet like a mad skunk or jumping up and down and making a high pitch squeaking sound almost like a cats toy. I was blocking it's way to the open roll up door leading to the roof behind me. I put up an open hand in a gesture to let it know that I wouldn't hurt it and backed up towards a different part of the machine room, away from it's path to the door, but kept my eye on the creature.

I watched it walking down the isle slowly when it started to move. It stopped where I had turned to get out of its way, it then turned and looked me over for a couple of seconds. I couldn't help myself and started to laugh at it. I felt like a child who saw a monkey for the first time or something! I got the impression that it was thanking me but I think I also offended it because it started to leer at me and it's eye changed to a lighter color. I could be wrong, it may have took a bow!

The triped then took off running in the direction of the door disappearing behind machinery in the area. I didn't feel threatened in any way by this creature but I was quite sure that cornering it was a bad idea! In hindsight of this encounter I'm left with a feeling a of wonder. The buildings electrical generator was permanently shut down about a year ago.

On this same morning I'm doing my paper work in the control booth, and a larger than man sized Praying Mantis comes up to the window and just stairs at me for about a minute. I did not feel comfortable with this encounter considering the nature of this kind of insect. I sat there and didn't move a muscle until it left.

I have also heard screeching sounds in the roof machine room, in the direction of the roll up door which made my hair stand up on the back of my neck around the same time for 2 nights. The next night 8-16-09 I'm mopping the floor in the machine room, on the roof and I come back to the sink to fill my bucket and there was a little springs and clip neatly arranged next to each other on the floor in front of the sink. I think the triped came back. There was no one else in the machine room. Was it trying to tell me something, were they gifts or was it trying to help me? I don't know. Its a mystery! The triped may have been back the next night too, but I didn't see it! It had moved stuff around like a toddler would have. It was into everything exploring I guess.

On 8-18-09 at around 3:00am I was witness to a giant bird above Eakins Oval with a 40 foot wing span or better, it had rectangle shaped wings and no tail feathers, I didn't see any feet or head either. All I could make out was the huge wings with all of the feathers moving in the breeze and there were hundreds of them, there were no primary feathers that I could see. It looked like a enormous kite. I'm a bird watcher and never seen a bird like this before. I was really quite fed up with all the paranormal stuff happening to me at this time so I watched it for about 4 minuets and decided to just ignored it and go on about my business before it did something really weird and unexplainable.

"Wow " A Sumerian god come to earth! An angle maybe? I can take see an alien off my bucket list! Nothing else has happened since.

Editor's Note: I have no idea what to make of this report to MUFON. If any one else has seen what this man has, I'd be very interested in reading your story.
